West Sussex County Council’s Future West Sussex Plan, which sets out its corporate priorities, includes a commitment to give children the best start in life. This includes ensuring that young people are ready for school and ready for work.
Woodlands Meed is the only special school serving the Mid Sussex area, providing specialist education for 259 young people aged 2 – 19. The existing college building has become very dated and is no longer fit-for-purpose and in March 2021, planning approval was granted for the creation of a new college building.
West Sussex County Council’s vision for Woodlands Meed College is to deliver an inspirational and flexible building. The aspiration is to provide a special, safe learning environment that provides for both staff and students, delivering a secure and happy environment for learning and positive social interaction.
